ON THIS DAY 40 YEARS AGO....my 16 year old self went to see Blondie at the Maxwell Hal Salford University with power poppers Advertising supporting (dont remember much about them but they made some good records) To me though it was all about Debbie wearing an incredibly short black dress that to this 16 year old was the the stuff of fantasy "in the flesh" Oh btw The music was fantastic as well wedding dresses in peach color :) It was just as their 2nd album "Plastic Letters" had been released before they became massive. I lived in Ordsall at the time so to be able to walk 10 mins up the road and £1.50 to get in (though I probably jibbed it I cant remember) This is a pic that I found of Debbie wrapped up in a poster from said gig. Happy days!
